Jaipur: The Rajasthan High court on Tuesday directed the\nRajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) to remove the question number 11 and\n22 from the RAS prelims exam 2018 which was conducted on August 5 last year.\nThe court has asked RPSC to release the revised merit list (RAS exam results)\nafter removing the marks for these questions. The revised results will be\nannounced soon, according to sources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The directions were issued by a single bench on Tuesday\nafter hearing a petition by Pankaj Raj, Arvind and others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The petitioner alleged that question number 11 was wrong as\nper its reference book and question number 22 had more than two correct answers\nin the options. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the officials, the dates for RAS main exam\nscheduled on June 25 and June 26 can be affected by this. Also, the students\nwho cleared the RAS pre exam may fail and the ones who did not pass can be\nselected for the RAS mains in the revised results. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The RAS prelims 2018 exam was conducted on August 5 at 1454\ncenters in Rajasthan. More than 3 Lakh candidates had appeared in the exam for\n980 Vacancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RPSC declared the results of RAS pre-exam 2018 on October 23\nin which the cut-off percentage for OBC, TSP, and MBC was higher than that of\ngeneral category. The communities and\ncandidates opposed and a petition was filed against it in the Rajasthan high\ncourt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In compliance with the court orders, the RPSC reduced the\ncutoff percentage of OBC, MBC and TSP categories and announced the revised\nresults based on the new merit cut-off list on December 13. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per RPSC orders dated February 12, RAS main examinations\nare supposed to take place on June 25 and June 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the HC orders, the mains exam dates can be postponed,\nsaid sources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
RPSC postponed the RAS exam 2018-19 for the third time in\nDecember 2018. The exam was scheduled to take place on January 20 and January\n30, but in a meeting held on January 21, it was decided that the exam should be\npostponed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The decision to postpone the exam was taken after the RPSC\nreceived a recommendation from the state government for the same. A full\ncommission meeting was held on January 21 in which it was decided to postpone\nthe exam one more time.
