The arrests were made from a three-storied flat near\nMehnat Nagar in Jaipur on Sunday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police caught them red-handed and recovered records\nsuggesting betting placed on the match worth over Rs 1.5 crore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police have booked the accused men under sections of\nGambling act and 66 B (Cyber-crime) of IT act with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The police also recovered 44 mobile phones, two laptops, LED, five record registers, and one car. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrested men identified as Mohammed Sharif Qureshi,\nImran Mohammed, Arun Kumar Verma, Shejaad, Indrajeet Wadwa, Taqib Syed and Arun\nKumar Sharma are the residents of Jaipur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police got a tip-off about the gang operating near the\nMehnat Nagar area on Hatwara road behind Sabzi Mandi on Sunday during the IPL\nmatch between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The accused took bets from people who placed their money on\nthe match through some websites. This involves a big network of people betting\non matches online from different states, said sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The men are in police custody and the officers are\ninterrogating them. Further investigation is going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, Jaipur police arrested 14 members of a betting\nracket a flat of My Haveli near Bhankrota near Jaipur-Ajmer highway on April 2.\nPolice recovered records suggesting betting placed on the match worth crores of\nrupees. The police also recovered 82 mobile phones, six laptops, four LEDs, Rs\n54000 cash and two SUV cars. The arrested men were the residents of Jodhpur,\nNagaur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Jhunjhunu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In another case, Jaipur police arrested seven men for\nbetting on the ongoing IPL 2019 matches near Jaisinghpura Road in Jaipur on\nMarch 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The crime branch has arrested 68 gamblers until now in\nregard to IPL 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police are keeping a close eye on betting rackets active\nduring the IPL matches.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jaipur: Sodala police and crime branch of Jaipur commissionerate busted an IPL betting racket and arrested seven members of the gang late night on Sunday.
