Jaipur: The traffic police administration has decided to\nequip police uniforms and vehicles patrolling national highways in Rajasthan\nwith cameras. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the officials, the cameras will be attached to\nthe dashboard of the police vehicles and on the front of the uniforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police control room officials will keep a tab on\nnational highways through the cameras, said a senior police officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to ADG traffic Pankaj Kumar Singh, a budget of Rs\n1.65 has been allocated for this purpose. The cameras will soon be functional. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The traffic police officers will have to keep their cameras\nturned on when they are on duty. If the camera is turned off, an explanation\nwill be sought from them, added Singh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If any police vehicle found absent from duty, the camera will\nrecord it. In case of an accident, the camera on the vehicle and uniform will\nrecord the incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The officials said that the step will also curb corruption\namong policemen patrolling the highways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police administration has also passed a budget of Rs\n1.77 crore for the hand-held e-challan machines in Jaipur and Jodhpur and also\na budget of 35.40 lakh for e-challan machines for interceptors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
