{"id":6815,"date":"2019-04-12T10:03:32","date_gmt":"2019-04-12T04:33:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pinkcitypost.com\/?p=6815"},"modified":"2019-04-12T10:03:38","modified_gmt":"2019-04-12T04:33:38","slug":"jhalana-reserve-evehicles-project-put-in-cold-storage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pinkcitypost.com\/jhalana-reserve-evehicles-project-put-in-cold-storage\/","title":{"rendered":"Jhalana reserve: eVehicles project put in cold storage"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Jaipur: Six electric vehicles which were supposed to be used\nfor leopard safari in Jhalana forest reserve are yet to become operational even\nthree months after they were purchased.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the increasing air and noise pollution due to wildlife\nsafari gypsies and canters at Rajasthan wildlife reserves including Ranthambore\nnational park, Sariska tiger reserve, and Jhalana park, Rajasthan\u2019s forest\ndepartment decided to launch electric vehicles for tourists last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the officials, the file pertaining to granting\npermission to eVehicles at Jhalana has been put on hold. No action has been\ntaken in this regard over the past three months.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior forest department officers said that that the file\nhad been submitted to forest minister Sukhram Bishnoi a month ago. No response\nhas been received from the minister. The eVehicles cannot operate at Jhalana\nwithout his permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forest minister Bishnoi is neither giving the approval nor\npointing out any issues with the launch of the eVehicles, said sources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tenders for the electric vehicle were issued during the\nprevious BJP government last year. The Congress government bought these\nvehicles after coming to power. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maharashtra\u2019s Tadoba Tiger Reserve has already launched the\ncountry\u2019s first ever electric vehicle for wildlife safari. There will no noise\nand air pollution in the forest areas after these vehicles are introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The features of the vehicle include 100km run capacity after\na one-time full charge and the boost function if the vehicle gets stuck in the\nsand.
