Jaipur: A tiger will be shifted to Sariska National Park in\nAlwar from Ranthambore Tiger Reserve soon, said forest officials. The forest\ndepartment has started preparations for relocating the tiger. The tiger\nrelocation will likely happen on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The forest department officials including principal chief\nconservator GV Reddy, Ranthambore field Director YK Sahu, and DFO Mukesh Saini\ngave a go-ahead to the proposal after getting approval from the National Tiger\nConservation Authority (NTCA) and Wild Life Institute (WII). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the officials, a two-member team from NTCA and\nWII visited Ranthambore on Monday to inspect and oversee the preparations for\nthe tiger shifting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team has picked five tigers aged between 4 and 6 years\nfor the relocation. The officials are yet to decide which one of these five\ntigers will be shifted to Sariska, added officers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the forest officials, a tiger between four to\nsix years of age will be relocated to Sariska from Ranthambore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A meeting will be conducted at CCSF office at 3 pm on\nTuesday. The NTCA and MII officials, Sariska\u2019s field director Ghanshyam Sharma\nand other officials from Ranthambore Park will be present in the meeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A tigress T-106 was relocated to Mukundra Hills Tiger\nReserve from Ranthambore National Park in December last year. Tiger T-91 was\nrelocated to Mukundra Hills the same year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The relocation was conducted under the supervision of\nRanthambore field director YK Sahu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The petition filed by Ajay Shankar Dubey opposed the\nshifting of the tiger \u2018T-91\u2019 from Ranthambore to Mukundra Hills. The petition\nalleged that the shifting violated the wildlife laws and demanded the\nrelocation of tigers to their natural habitat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
