Jaipur: The Rajasthan University administration is likely to postpone the dates for graduate and undergraduate exams that were scheduled on May 6 due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections polling.<\/p>\n
The dates for upcoming Lok Sabha Elections were announced on Sunday by Election Commission of India. Polling in Rajasthan on 25 seats will be held on April 29 (Phase 4) and May 6 (Phase 5). The results will be announced on May 23.<\/p>\n
According to the university, a total of 10 exams for the bachelor’s and postgraduate degree are scheduled on May 6. The administration is planning to change the exam dates due to the Lok Sabha election phase 5 polling in the state. University will likely release an official notice regarding the new dates soon.<\/p>\n
The exams dates for few subjects were postponed earlier due to the Gujjar agitation in the state and were scheduled for May 6, added officials.<\/p>\n
The 10 exams that are scheduled for May 6 include Science (first year), Arts (first year, honors and non-college), Geography, BST, Economics, BLIS, Business environment, MJMC, MA, MSC, Mathematics along with others.<\/p>\n
Thirteen constituencies including Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota, and Jhalawar-Baran will go on polls on April 26 in the state.<\/p>\n
And the elections of 12 Lok Sabha constituencies including Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa, and Nagaur will take place on May 6.<\/p>\n
This time, the photo voter slips will not be accepted as the standalone identity document for voting on polling day. The voter can bring any of the 12-government-approved photo identity cards to the poll station.<\/p>\n
The use of photo voter slip in the Lok Sabha elections will be limited to check booth number, inviting people to vote and for awareness exercises.<\/p>\n
The 12 documents accepted for identification include EPIC, passport, Aadhar card, driving license, service identity cards with photographs issued to employees by central\/state government, PSUs, public limited companies, passbooks issued by bank or post office, PAN card and smart card issued by the Registrar General of India under National Populations Register.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
