The tiger dragged the victim\u2019s body into the forest. It took a forest department rescue team nearly three hours to locate the body.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased woman has been identified as Nauranti Devi (62), a resident of Brahmapuri area of Sawaimadhopur. She went to collect woods with another woman, identified as Sampat Devi.<\/p>\n<p>According to the police, the deceased woman Nauranti and her fellow mate Sampat Devi went to the forest area to collect woods around 11 am on Thursday. The duo got separated in search of woods. A tiger attacked Nauranti and dragged her body into the dense forest area.<\/p>\n<p>Sampat Devi realized what had happened after hearing Nauranti\u2019s screams for help. She went to the village and informed the victim&#8217;s family members about the incident around 1 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Locals informed the police officials and forest department team following which a rescue team rushed to the spot. After a search operation for three hours, the team found the body in the forest. The woman had been mauled to death by the tiger.<\/p>\n<p>As per forest department team, the movement of tigers, T-57 and T-98, is usually detected in the area where the woman\u2019s body was recovered. However, the tiger which killed the woman has not been identified yet.<\/p>\n<p>A forest official told media persons said that the entry into the forest is prohibited without permission. Residents of nearby villages sometimes venture into the area for collecting woods which is illegal.
