Jaipur: The traders association protested against the JDA’s decision of increasing the parking rates of Ram Niwas Bagh underground parking following which a meeting was conducted between traders and JDA’s Commissioner Vaibhav Galaria on Wednesday.

The representatives of traders association headed by president Subhash Goel met JDA Commissioner Vaibhav Galaria on Wednesday. Goel said that if the JDA will increase the Ram Niwas Bagh parking rates, the whole trader’s association will stage a protest against the decision.

JDA Commissioner Vaibhav Galaria has agreed to the traders’ demand and said that the JDA will reconsider the decision of increasing the parking rates of Ram Niwas Bagh.

According to the traders association secretary Surendra Baj, the main objective of the Ram Niwas Bagh underground parking is to control the parking load in the walled city. Increasing rates for the parking is not right. It will create several problems for traders.

Several officials including Jaipur traders’ association head Subhash Goel, Secretary Surendra Baj, Senior vice president Harish Kedia, Vice-president Chandra Kumar Rupani and others presented their view points in front of the JDA officials.

The Jaipur Development Authority decided to increase the rates for underground parking at Ram Niwas Bagh (Garden) in Jaipur and issued a notice regarding this on December 17.

People who park their cars for 24-hrs in the basement of Ram Niwas Garden will be charged Rs 4000 per month. The new charges will be applied from January 1, 2019, the notice said.
