Jaipur: Popular Tourist places including all the forts, museums and palaces in Jaipur and across Rajasthan will remain closed for public on December 7 due to voting for the state assembly elections 2018 on Friday. The announcement was made by the archaeological department on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Famous tourist places in Jaipur including Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Albert Hall Museum, Wildlife safaris, Nahargarh biological park, and other tourists\u2019 places will be closed for visitors on December 7, said an officer. Similarly, tourists\u2019 places in Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Ranthambore, Sariska, Kota and other places will also remain closed.<\/p>\n

According to the officials, the decision has been taken to ensure that instead of visiting monuments and tourist places people vote. No foreign tourists or domestic visitors will be allowed to visit the places on the polling day.<\/p>\n

The archaeological department and the authorities have appealed people to vote. The officer said that voting is every citizen\u2019s right and duty.<\/p>\n

The official handle of Rajasthan Tourism tweeted, \u201cThis is to inform that all Forts, Museums, and Palaces in Rajasthan will remain closed for visitors on December 7 due to the State Election Day. Please don’t forget to Vote!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rajasthan assembly elections 2018 will be held on December 7 from 8 am to 5 pm in the state for 199 assembly seats. The election results will be declared on December 11.<\/p>\n

Social media platforms are inundated with posters and political messages. The ban on liquor sale and consumption has also been enforced in the state till tomorrow evening.<\/p>\n
