According to a traffic official in Jaipur, the lack of infrastructure and that of awareness among the residents are the primary reasons for congestions.<\/p>\n
Congestions can be seen in the old city for the most part as the area has the narrowest lanes.<\/p>\n
Encroachments in the Walled City are also a major problem. People prefer personal vehicle rather than public transports in Jaipur, which can also be the cause of congestion in the city.<\/p>\n
The research paper ranked 20 slowest, 20 most congested and 10 fastest cities of India.<\/p>\n
The research paper is the first large-scale analysis of traffic congestion in 154 Indian cities. The researchers analyzed 22 million potential trips throughout the prominent cities of the country by using Google maps.<\/p>\n
