Jaipur: Some men opened fire at a trader\u2019s house on Monday for not paying \u2018protection money\u2019 of Rs 25 lakh in Fatehpur town of Sikar district.<\/p>\n
The firing exposed the tall claims of police to restore law and order in Fatehpur where an SHO and a police constable were shot dead nearly 20 days ago. The accused men fled from the spot after the shootout. Police launched a search operation, however they are still at large.<\/p>\n
The local trader identified as Rinku Biyani lives with her wife Sangeeta Biyani and his three children in Fatehpur town.<\/p>\n
According to the police, some men called up Rinku a few days ago and asked him to pay Rs 25 lakh. They threatened to kill him if the amount was not paid. Rinku ignored the call and didn\u2019t inform the police. He thought it to be a bogus call.<\/p>\n
The men opened firing at Rinku\u2019s house around 6 am on Monday. No one sustained bullet injuries as all the family members were sleeping inside, but the incident created panic. Police said that the criminals wanted to intimidate the family members. They fired nine rounds of bullets at the trader\u2019s house and fled away from the spot.<\/p>\n
A senior police official said that the CCTV footages have been recovered and the accused have been identified. Soon, they will be arrested.<\/p>\n
SHO Mukesh Kanungo and constable Ramprakash\u00a0<\/a>were shot dead by criminals in Fatehpur town of Sikar district on October 6.
