Jaipur: NSUI rebel Vinod Jakhar was elected president of the Rajasthan University (RU) student union 2018. The fight was between Rajpal Choudhary and Vinod Jakhar. Jakhar won by a margin of 1860 votes.<\/p>\n
Vinod Jakhar fought the election as an independent candidate. He was an NSUI rebel.<\/p>\n
An elated Jakhar told media persons that he was thankful to the voters and he would try to fulfill all the promises that he made.<\/p>\n
The supporters of Vinod Jakhar started celebrating as soon as the results were declared. \u00a0The police didn\u2019t allow students to gather on the campus.<\/p>\n
The polling at Rajasthan University took place on August 31. Heavy police force was deployed on the campus to maintain law and order.<\/p>\n
Police officials said that barricades were put up on JLN Marg and the areas surrounding Rajasthan University to ensure that election results don\u2019t disrupt traffic.<\/p>\n
The student union election results may have a bearing on the upcoming assembly elections also. Political pundits said that they are an indication of the mindset of the youngsters in Rajasthan.<\/p>\n
Six student elders were in the fray for the president\u2019s post, seven for vice presidents post, eight for general secretary and eight for joint secretary.<\/p>\n
