A start-up in India is offering people an opportunity to put their nameplate on the moon if they are willing to shell out just Rs 500. This unique offer has received huge response as more than 10,000 people have already registered.<\/p>\n<p>Team Indus will become India\u2019s only private company if they achieve their target of landing a spacecraft on the moon by January, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>TeamIndus is the only team from India to qualify for the Google Lunar XPrize.<\/p>\n<p>The mission to launch a spacecraft will begin on December 28, 2017. A PSLV rocket will travel 3.84 lakh kilometers into the space and land on the moon on January 26, 2018. A small automated robot will send images and videos from the moon. It will also plant on the moon a nameplate with names of people who will register for this crowd-funding project.<\/p>\n<p>Actually, it all started with the announcement of Google Lunar Xprize competition. The contenders have to win a race to the moon. Those who win this race will get US$25 million (approximately 170.27 crore).<\/p>\n<p>In order to win the race, TeamIndus will have to have its robot on the moon. The robot will travel 500 meters on the moon and send HD photographs and videos.<\/p>\n<p>Since the project needs a lot of funding, the start-up has come up with a unique idea to collect money from people. It has offered that those who will pay Rs 500 will get the opportunity to have their name on the planet.<\/p>\n<p>The company has built a robot and named it ECA , short for \u2018Ek Chhoti si Asha\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi: This is not a joke!
