Jaipur: Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje approved to open 55 POCSO (The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) courts in the state on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Out of which, six will be open in Jaipur, five courts in Kota, four courts in Alwar, three courts in Pali and two each in Ajmer, Baran, Bharatpur, Udaipur, Jhalawar, Bhilwara and Bundi districts. With one each court in 23 districts of Rajasthan.<\/p>\n
According to Law department, 660 posts have been created for these 55 POCSO courts and the law department will issue notification soon regarding recruitments.<\/p>\n
Significantly, different proposals were sent three times to open the POCSO courts. In the first proposal seven courts were proposed, in second proposal four and in third proposal 44 courts were proposed. CM Raje, has approved all of these proposals on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
After financial sanction, the Finance Department has sent the files related to the POCSO Courts further to the Law Department and for the administrative permission for opening of 55 POCSO courts, the file will go to the Chief Secretary of the Law Department, the Ministers of State and the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n
The Law Department will issue notification to open the court as soon as the administrative permission is received. After this the court will start its work with the appointment of judicial officers and employees on behalf of the High Court administration.<\/p>\n
In these following 23 districts one each POCSO court will be opened soon : Bikaner, Balotra, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Churu, Dausa, Dhaulpur, Dungarpur, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jaipur district, Jalore, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunun, Karauli, Malta, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sawai madhopur, Sikar, Sirohi , Jodhpur District and Tonk.<\/p>\n
POCSO court is established under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and provides protection to children under the age of 18 years from sexual abuse.
