Jaipur: There is good news for the government employees in Rajasthan. The state government on Monday announced to lift the ban on their transfers, in an apparent bid to appease them and their families in the election year.

Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje took a meeting of cabinets ministers and discussed with them about lifting the ban on the transfer of government employees. The ban was in place for the past one decade. The government was under pressure from cabinet ministers, legislators and BJP leaders to take this move. A proposal in this regard had been sent to the chief minister office by the department of administrative reforms.

The decision will enable public representatives to transfer government employees to their home districts. Nearly 9 lakh employees working in department such as agriculture, irrigation, PWD, mining, education, health, forest, UDH, PHED, revenue, home and public food supply will benefit from the government’s move.
