Jaipur: Rajasthan police\u2019s special operations group (SOG) on Monday arrested six men including a partner in Saraswati Infotech for their involvement in helping candidates to cheat in in the police constable recruitment exam. SOG sources said that some examiners and institutes are also under the scanner. The gang members were interrogated at Malviya Nagar police station in Jaipur.<\/p>\n
Rajasthan police constable recruitment exam \u2013 2017 was being conducted by Aptech Limited, according to ADG, SOG Umesh Mishra.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe got a tip off that one of the examination centers in Malviya Nagar RIICO Area \u2013 Saraswati Infotech \u2013 was involved in suspicious activities. The examination center owner was helping some candidates to cheat in the exam,\u201d said Mishra.<\/p>\n
Based on the tip-off, an SOG team under the supervision of IG SOG Dinesh MN was formed.<\/p>\n
A partner in Saraswati Infotech \u2013 Vikash Malik \u2013 was arrested along with five other men.<\/p>\n
Vikash Malik (30) is a native of Rohtak district in Haryana. The five other accused were identified as Amol Mahajan (24), Abhimanu Singh (25), Sanjay Chhikara (25), Ankit Sahrawat (18) and Amit Jat (21). While Abhimanyu Singh and Sanjay are natives of Jhajhar district in Haryana, Ankit belongs to Sonipat district of the same state. Amol hails from Nasik district in Maharashtra, while Amit belongs to Delhi.<\/p>\n
An FIR was registered against these accused.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe gang members hacked the computer program installed at the Saraswati Infotech. They took a building on rent near the center. We seized laptops, writers, cables, internet data dongles and other equipment from the building. They were using these equipment to hack into the computers at the institute and were helping candidates with answers to the questions asked in the exam in real time,\u201d said Umesh Mishra.<\/p>\n
The SOG has come to know during preliminary investigation that at least 12 candidates of the police constable recruitment exam were trying to cheat in the exam with the help of this gang.<\/p>\n
ADG, headquarters Rajeevn Sharma said that the center has been cancelled.<\/p>\n
Nearly 4000 candidates who were supposed to appear in the exam between March 13 and March 17 at this center will be accommodated at other centers. They can download their revised exam admission letter from the website from April 1. Similarly the candidates who were to appear at exams between March 20 and May 5 will also be accommodated at other centers.<\/p>\n
The police constable recruitment exam is being held in 10 cities of the state since March 7. The exam is being conducted online for the first time. A company was awarded a tender to conduct exam that will go on for the next 45 days. The exams are being held in Jodhpur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Jhunjhunu, Kota, Sikar, Sri Ganganagar and Udaipur.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
