Jaipur: Rajasthan high court on Friday ordered a CBI investigation into the allegations of fraudulent admissions in medical colleges in Rajasthan for MBBS through the Private College Pre Medical College Test (PC PMT) in 2015. The court said that the registration of colleges that are found involved in fraudulently giving admission to students be cancelled.<\/p>\n
The court has asked the state government to recommend a CBI probe. It has also directed the Medical Council of India (MCI) to cancel the registration of colleges which fraudulently gave admission for MBBS seats. The court has given six months for ensuring compliance with its orders.<\/p>\n
The bench of justice Manish Bhandari gave these orders on petitions filed by Vivek Bugalia, Ravi Kumar Sharma and others.<\/p>\n
The petitioners alleged that they had taken the PC PMT in 2015 conducted through MDS University, Ajmer. The petitioners secured top ranks despite that they were not given admission in MBBS and BDS. However, many students who had secured just 5-15% were given admission. Some students had not even participated in the test, but got admission.<\/p>\n
The court said that it was surprising to know MCI didn\u2019t take any concrete action in the matter despite having knowledge about the irregularities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
