They were leaving for Agra, but boarded a Delhi-bound train and when they realized their mistake, they jumped off. While the tourist from Britain got away with minor injuries, Eric died after he sustained serious head injuries, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>SHO GRP, Sawai Madhopur, Giga Ram said that Erik and his friend had come to Sawai Madhopur to visit Ranthambore national park. They were planning to go to Agra to visit Taj Mahal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey bought train tickets for Agra, but boarded Jan Shatabdi Express by mistake. The train left for Delhi. Some passengers told the duo that they had boarded a wrong train. They panicked and jumped off the train. The speed was slow so that they thought they would be able to safely get off the train, but they couldn\u2019t judge the speed properly,\u201d said the officer.<\/p>\n<p>The officer said that after jumping off the train, Erik lost balance and fell on to the platform. He received serious head injuries.<\/p>\n<p>He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis friend sustained very minor injuries,\u201d said the officer.<\/p>\n<p>The body of Erik has been put in the mortuary of a government hospital in Sawai Madhopur.<\/p>\n<p>The police are recording the statement of his friend to determine what exactly happened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are informing the Dutch embassy. A postmortem examination will be conducted in presence of embassy officials or the deceased man\u2019s family members. An investigation is continuing,\u201d said the officer.<\/p>\n<p>Sawai Madhour is nearly 150 km from Rajasthan capital city Jaipur.
