Jaipur: Nearly 18 days after Sanwar Lal Jat suffered cardiac arrest, the former union cabinet minister and senior BJP leader in Rajasthan passed away early on Wednesday. He suffered heart attack while the party\u2019s national president Amit Shah was taking a meeting of ministers here on July 22. Jat was currently the Member of Parliament (MP) from Ajmer constituency.<\/p>\n

Jat breathed his last around 6.15 am. He was 62-year-old.<\/p>\n

A pall of gloom descended over his native village Gopalpura as the news of his death spread. Hundreds of BJP workers, relatives and villagers rushed to Jat\u2019s house to console the grieving family.<\/p>\n

Ajmer district BJP cancelled all its scheduled programs.<\/p>\n

Jat was union minister of state for water resources in the Narendra Modi government.<\/p>\n

Amit Shah was on a three-day Jaipur visit and was taking a meeting of BJP\u2019s state unit leaders and ministers at the party\u2019s headquarters when Jat who is also the chairman of Rajasthan farmers commission apprised Amit Shah felt uneasiness and walked towards the door of the meeting hall. It was when he just collapsed, creating panic among people present in the meeting.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Jat’s demise was a big loss for BJP and the nation.<\/p>\n
