Jaipur: Eighteen medical students of Bikaner Medical College who were booked and chargesheeted for blocking road and damaging public property after the death of a college mate in an accident may soon get relief. As these students are having a difficult time in getting job, the Rajasthan government has sought relief for them by deciding to withdraw the criminal cases.<\/p>\n
The government is of the opinion that these students were protesting for a cause and they didn\u2019t have any personal interest.<\/p>\n
On August 24, 2015, a girl student of Bikaner Medical College died in a road accident while another was seriously wounded.<\/p>\n
The medical college students blocked Bikaner-Jaipur National Highway and expressed their anger by damaging public property. The police booked 18 identified and another 150 unidentified students for blocking the national highway and damaging public property.<\/p>\n
A chargesheet was filed against these students.<\/p>\n
The state government\u2019s home department recently wrote to the union transport ministry to give its consent for withdrawing the case.<\/p>\n
The home department argued that it was a public agitation and the students booked in the FIRs didn\u2019t have any personal interest.<\/p>\n
The criminal case can have an impact on the students\u2019 career. They may have problems landing a government job and even their registration with the MCI may be cancelled.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
