Jaipur: A day after the sensentional murder of a 27-year-old man, Amit Nayar, in a suspected case of honour killing in Jaipur\u2019s Karani Vihar area, the city police launched a massive search for the victim\u2019s in-laws. The father-in-law Jeewan Ram and mother Bhagwati disappeared after their aide gunned down Amit in the latter\u2019s house on Wednesday. Police teams were rushed to several places inclduding Rajasthan\u2019s Nagaur where Amit\u2019s brother-in-law was detained.<\/p>\n

Amit, a resident of Jagdmba Colony in Jaipur\u2019s Karani Vihar, was shot at by an unidentified man in the presence of Amit\u2019s pregnant wife Mamta Choudhary. The man was suspectedly hired by Jeewan Ram, a retired army driver, who was against his marriage because Mamta and Amit belonged to different caste.<\/p>\n

The unidentified man and the parents-in-law fled from the spot after the incident in a car.<\/p>\n

The police put up barricades throughout Jaipur, but the car couldn\u2019t be traced.<\/p>\n

Jeewan Ram lives in Khatipura, a couple of kilometers from Amit\u2019s house.<\/p>\n

Acting on a tip-off that he, his wife and other accused may be hiding in Nagaur, some 250 km from Jaipur, raids were carried out at several places in the district.<\/p>\n

Sources said that police have detained Amit\u2019s brother-in-law Mukesh Choudhary for interrogation, however whether he was involved in the incident was not clear. Mukesh is a junior engineering with the railways.<\/p>\n

The in-laws were against the marriage that took place nearly four years ago.<\/p>\n

Mamta was expecting a baby, so in the name of making truce with Amit and his family, Jeewan Ram, his wife and their aide turned up at Amit\u2019s house on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

They first tried to take Mamta with them forcefully, but when she protested, the unidentified man who came with Jeewan Ram opened fire.<\/p>\n

Three bullets pierced Amit\u2019s body. He was rushed to a government hospital in Jaipur where he was declared brought dead.<\/p>\n
