It is currently a reserve forest area, but keeping in view the increasing number of wild animals and birds, a proposal has been mooted to make it a wildlife sanctuary. Once declared a sanctuary, the area will be handed over to wildlife department from the forest department. The switch will lead to a planned development of an ecological system to boost population of wild animals and birds, officials said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read Also: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinkcitypost.com\/jhalana-safari-booking-price-increased-entry-personal-vehicles-banned\/\">Jhalana safari booking price increased, entry of personal vehicles banned<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A proposal in this regard was prepared in a meeting presided over by additional chief secretary (forest) NC Goyal.<\/p>\n<p>The Rajasthan government, child wildlife warden GV Reddy has sought records related to the Jhalana forest area from the forest department.<\/p>\n<p>The record includes details of wild animals and birds, the land, maps, number of officials and employees and development works carried out in the past 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal will be sent to the state government for approval.<\/p>\n<p>Once it is approved, the area will be declared a wildlife sanctuary.<\/p>\n<p>The forest department has already started Jhalana leopard safari to attract tourists.<\/p>\n<p>Spread over 33 sq km east of Jaipur, the Jhalana forest area is said to have 20 leopards and panthers.
