Jaipur: A city court on Monday granted bail to the two policemen of Vidhayakpuri police station who were arrested for releasing miscreants who had defrauded and robbed a Japanese tourist in Jaipur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Head Constable Satyendra Singh and Constable Rajkumar were arrested on April 7. Their laywer Sandeep Luhadia told The PinkCity Post that the court of the upper district and sessions judge number – 7 released the two on bail under section 439 of CrPC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In their bail application, the accused policemen argued that they had been framed in the case. No cash or any other incriminating objects had been recovered from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe argued that there were no antecedents of any such complaints against the accused policemen. They were lodged in judicial custody and no investigation was pending against them. The accused policemen were also not served a notice under section 41A of CrPC before the arrest even when there was no warrant against them,\u201d said Luhadia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court without any comments on the merits of the case granted bail to the accused since there were no criminal antecedents against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is alleged that the Japanese tourist, Saso Takesi, had complained to the police about the fraud, but the head constable and constable at Vidhayakpuri police station colluded with the accused and closed the case after taking Rs 7 lakh from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The matter came to light when the Embassy officials complained to the Police Commissioner about the issue. The Commissioner instructed the tourist police station to investigate the case. The police arrested three accused in the case and during their interrogation, it was revealed that the fraudusters had paid Rs 7 lakh to the two policemen to cover up the fraud.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
