JAIPUR: In a recent development from the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, the tigress T-107, known as ‘Sultana,’ gave birth to a new litter of cubs. This comes shortly after another tigress, Arrowhead, welcomed her own cubs last month. This has increased Ranthambore’s tiger family to a total of 81 including both adults and cubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A recent camera trap sighting captured T-107 and one of her cubs near Kali Talai in the Naka Sherpur area of the ROPT range. Forest officials said the tigress might have given birth to more than one cub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
T-107, a seven-year-old tigress, is the daughter of Tigress T-39. This marks her third time embracing motherhood. The forest authorities have instructed the field staff to ensure the safety and continuous monitoring of the new family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tigress T-84 Arrowhead’s recent maternity journey in July was celebrated throughout the reserve. With Sultana’s new addition to the family, the collective tiger count reached 81, reiterating the success of conservation efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tigress Sultana’s previous litter of two cubs were born about a year and a half ago. While one cub fell into the Gaumukh Kund at the Mishradarra Gate, the other cub went missing.
