JAIPUR: A widow was severely assaulted and humiliated publically by a group of more than twelve women in the midst of a village in Udaipur. The group of women dragged the victim by the hair and even tore her clothes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bystanders present at the scene recorded videos instead of intervening. The victim’s five-year-old son witnessed the ordeal and broke into tears upon seeing his mother’s condition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident occurred recently in a village falling under the jurisdiction of Bakaria police station in Udaipur and came to the notice of police after the videos of the incident went viral. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Udaipur SP Bhuvan Bhushan instructed the registration of a case after the video surfaced. Three people, including two women, were arrested on Saturday afternoon, while another person was taken into custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preliminary investigations reveal that the widow, whose husband passed away a year ago, has been residing in the village with her young son. The villagers suspected the woman of an affair with a young man from the same village. The wife of the young man discovered this and shared it with other women residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
