JAIPUR: Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur has implemented a new system to enhance patient services, starting today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cardiology Department’s Outpatient Department (OPD) has launched a comprehensive facility that eliminates the need for patients to navigate through different counters and buildings to receive treatment, check-ups, and medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The inauguration of this consolidated service took place earlier today. Dr. Rajeev Bagrahatta, Principal of SMS Medical College, explained that previously, patients would visit the doctor after obtaining an OPD registration slip, and then proceed to separate counters for billing, collecting the doctor’s written test, and obtaining prescribed medicines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Numerous complaints were received regarding this cumbersome process, with patients often encountering obstacles such as being unable to obtain medication or undergo necessary tests due to the inefficiency of the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result, many patients were forced to revisit the hospital. However, this will no longer be the case, as the new system has been introduced in the Cardiology OPD today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was attended by HOD of the Cardiology Department VV Agarwal, Additional Superintendent of SMS Pradeep Sharma, Dr. Devendra Purohit, ECG in charge Prateek Sharma, and other doctors and nursing staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Achal Sharma, Superintendent of SMS Hospital, said that the hospital’s OPD receives around 9,000 to 10,000 patients daily, with approximately 600 patients visiting the cardiology department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the implementation of this new facility, patients will be able to obtain test receipts from a nearby bill counter immediately after their consultation with the doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, they can provide samples within the same hall and collect prescribed medications from the open DDC (medicine counter) adjacent to the chamber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This streamlined approach will eliminate the need for patients and their families to wait in multiple queues at the bill counter, sample collection center, or other locations to obtain medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a bid to provide greater convenience to inpatient individuals, a new DDC center was inaugurated near the plastic surgery ward today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Sunil Srivastava, Head of the Plastic Surgery Department, stated that patients in the plastic surgery and general medicine wards, which are in close proximity, previously had to visit the Bangar unit or a DDC center in another unit to access medications during the night.
