JAIPUR: Resident doctors who have been protesting the Right to Health Bill have agreed to end their agitation and return to work from today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement deals a significant setback to the movement of private hospital operators and other doctors. However, the Jaipur Residents Doctors’ Association (JARD) remains divided over this decision, with a faction of resident doctors refusing to accept the outcome and threatening to continue the agitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following a late-night meeting between resident doctors, the Secretary of Medical Health Education, and other officials, office bearers of the Resident Doctors Association from various districts, including Jaipur, announced the end of the agitation. Starting from 9 am, residents resumed their duties at the OPD, IPD, and other services in the hospital. Due to today being a state holiday, the OPD operated for only two hours, from 9 am to 11 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the announcement, resident doctors at the RD Hostel of SMS Hospital have opted to continue the strike. They plan to maintain their protest by writing a letter to SMS Principal Dr. Rajeev Bagrahatta and forming a struggle committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The resident doctors have agreed on four demands, including sending a proposal to the Finance Department to provide House Rent Allowance (HRA) and DA in the current salary of senior residents. The agreement also calls for involving the office bearers of the Residents Association in creating an effective policy for the senior residents’ allotment process under the bond policy issued for residents admitted after 2020.
