However, the high cost of these pumps and their maintenance make them unaffordable for most people. The cost of an insulin pump ranges from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, and changing insulin cartridges and cannulas can cost up to 15,000 rupees per month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Sanjay Saran, Associate Professor at the Department of Endocrinology at SMS Hospital in Jaipur, hailed the government&#8217;s decision as a major breakthrough for diabetes patients. He explained that this decision would be particularly helpful for patients who currently have to inject insulin multiple times a day, as it would significantly reduce the pain and inconvenience they experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Saran also expressed his hope that the government would include free insulin cartridges and cannulas in the package along with the insulin pump, which would provide further relief to patients from poor and general category backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The move has been widely praised by healthcare professionals and patients alike, with many expressing gratitude to the government for taking such a significant step toward making diabetes management more accessible and affordable for all.
