Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot made this announcement during the assembly session on Friday. With this addition, Rajasthan will now have a total of 50 districts and 10 divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jaipur district has been split into four new districts namely Jaipur North, Jaipur South, Dudu, and Kotputli districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The newly created divisions include Banswara, Pali, and Sikar. While it is not yet clear which districts will fall under these headquarters, the government has paid special attention to the region. Banswara has been carved out of the tribal belt of Mewar, Pali from Marwar, and Sikar from Shekhawati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has also divided some of the existing districts for better administration. The home district of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Jodhpur, has been divided into three districts, namely Jodhpur East, Jodhpur West, and Phalodi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several other districts have been divided to create new ones. Sriganganagar has been divided into Anupgarh, Barmer into Balotra, Ajmer into Beawar and Kekri, Bharatpur into Deeg, Nagaur into Didwana-Kuchamancity, Sawaimadhopur into Gangapur City, Alwar into Khairthal, Sikar into Neem ka Thana, Udaipur into Salumbar, and Jalore into Shahpura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement was made after the High Power Committee, headed by retired IAS Ramlubhaya, was given an extension of six months to suggest the formation of new districts. Leaders from 60 different places had submitted separate memorandums to the committee demanding the creation of new districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The move is aimed at promoting better administration and ensuring equitable distribution of resources in the state.
