JAIPUR: Doctors across the state including Jaipur will go on strike to oppose the proposed Right to Health Bill in Rajasthan on February 11. The select committee of the Vidhan Sabha will also hear the doctors’ concerns on the same day. Private hospital OPDs will be fully shut during the strike, but there is no decision yet on the status of emergency services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The State Joint Action Committee, comprising doctors and private hospital operators, has announced a strike to protest the bill. The decision was made after discussions between the members of the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the members of the committee, the state government is determined to pass the bill despite opposition from doctors across the state. The bill contains several flaws, which is why all doctors and hospital operators are opposing it. However, the government is disregarding the doctors’ concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year, when the government attempted to pass the bill in the assembly, it faced strong opposition throughout the state. In response, the government referred it to a select committee in light of the opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Right to Health Bill, also known as the Rajasthan Health Care Rights Bill 2022, was introduced in Rajasthan amid much anticipation. However, the bill couldn\u2019t not passed in the assembly due to flaws pointed out by the legislators. Both the opposition and ruling party legislators deemed the bill insufficient.
