The department is buying high-tech interceptor vehicles that will capture the registration number of the violator\u2019s vehicle and deliver the challan on mobile phones.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCurrently, the traffic policemen have to stop overspeeding cars by stepping in front of them or signalling them to stop in most cases. It\u2019s dangerous and risky for the policemen as well as the vehicle passengers,\u201d said a police officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that now, the traffic policemen will not have to try to stop the vehicles on the spot. The high-tech interceptors will capture the registration plates and then deliver the challan to the vehicle owner on his or her mobile phone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis will not only reduce the risk but also increase compliance as the traffic violators on the highways near Jaipur would be caught on camera. Earlier, they used to go scot-free if the traffic policemen failed to stop the overspeeding vehicle,\u201d said the officer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four districts of Jaipur Police are likely to get one hi-tech interceptor each. Recently, 25 such hi-tech Night Hawk interceptors were flagged off by CM Ashok Gehlot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The camera installed on these interceptors will generate an online challan and send it to the mobile in case the vehicle was overspeeding. The violator will have 15 days to pay the fine by being physically present at the concerned traffic police office. If this does not happen, then the case will be presented before a court from where the challan will be generated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overspeeding challans are currently being done on JLN Road, Tonk Road, Vaishali Nagar and Sanganer in the city.
