JAIPUR: The Nepalese who robbed a prominent handicraft businessman, identified as Ashok Chopra, and his family of valuables worth Rs 10 crore after drugging them have been arrested. They were traced in Delhi and Gujarat while attempting to sell off the valuables. They have been brought to Jodhpur. Interrogation with them is going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the accused are currently lodged at Uday Mandir police station in Jodhpur. The police were yet to reveal whether the valuables that were robbed had been recovered or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jodhpur police is likely to hold a press conference to disclose the details of the arrests. The robbers were held from Delhi and Gujarat on Wednesday night and brought to Jodhpur on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police suspect the gang\u2019s involvement in similar thefts at several places across the country. The police came to know about the modus-operandi of the gang that helped them nab the culprits. Most of the gang members belong to Kailali in Nepal. They to Delhi after committing thefts and stay there for two to three days, before escaping to Nepal by different routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A police team consisting of several SHOs, along with the DST team of Jodhpur Police, traced these thieves in Delhi. The rest were caught trying to sell diamond rings in Surat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seven Nepalis were involved in the robbery. Four of them were employed as domestic helps at the house of the handicraft businessman. These four had called three more people from Nepal for committing the robbery.
