Woman Up! Summit 2018 at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) on October 27-28

The purpose of the summit is to inspire and encourage women to make their path towards economic empowerment. Women will be encouraged to enhance women employment and women entrepreneurship. Several eminent speakers from varied industries will be the part of the event, organizers said.

Jaipur: Jawahar Kala Kendra will play host to the second edition of the ‘Woman Up! Summit’ in a joint venture with literary agency ‘Siyahi’ on October 27 and October 28. Several eminent speakers from varied industries will be the part of the event.

The purpose of the summit is to inspire and encourage women to make their path towards economic empowerment. Women will be encouraged to enhance women employment and women entrepreneurship.

The Summit will be driven by conversations, personal narratives and an exchange of ideas amongst women (and men) to bring about real-time, visible changes to the modern Indian ‘workforce’.

The sessions and workshops at the summit will focus on re-establishing the belief that women today can make a difference in their own lives. It will also give an opportunity to participants for real-time engagement the eminent speakers through mentorship sessions, organizers said.

Several Speakers including Bollywood Actress Divya Dutta, First Female Coolie Manju Devi, Woman Patrolling unit members Nirmala Kumari and Suman Kumari, Entrepreneur Shilpa Sharma, First youngest Indian to visit Antarctica Aanya Soni, Founder/ CEO of Frontier Markets Ajaita Shah, Author and leadership coach Aparna Jain, Yoga Practitioner Dolly Singh, Radhika Sharma, Kalpana Bilwal and Kalpana Palat from Jeevan Ashram organization, Cloth maker Kaveri Lalchand, Lila Devi and Nisha Chauhan from Urmul Seemat Samiti, Journalist/ Author Poonam Saxena, Deputy Commissioner of Police (HQ), Jaipur Commissionerate, IPS Tejaswani Gautam and Member of Central Board of Film Certification Vani Tripathi will be part of this two daylong event at JKK.

The first edition of Woman up was launched in 2017 with the motto ‘woman at work’. The main long-term goal of Woman Up! Summit is to get firms, companies, and corporations to pledge to add women to their work-force.

The idea is to integrate more and more women to join the workforce and also to re-integrate those who wish to take up work after a long ongoing break.

The main purpose of the summit is to bring out the change through the stories from passionate individuals and inspiring leaders from across various fields to share ideas and attempt to change common perceptions regarding women joining the workforce.
