Woman ISI spy honey traps army jawan in Jaisalmer, collects strategic info

Jaipur: A Pak woman suspected to be an ISI agent honey trapped a soldier posted in Jaisalmer through social media and collected strategic and confidential information related to the Indian army from him.

Rajasthan ATS team, military intelligence and the local police have launched a joint probe after the case came to light on Friday. An Intelligence team from Jaipur reached Jodhpur to quiz the jawan on Friday.

The army man, identified as Somveer Singh is a resident of Rohtak in Haryana and is currently posted in Jaisalmer.

According to the sources, a woman spy sent a friend request to Somveer on Facebook posing as Anika Chopra. Anika and Somveer started chatting through text messages, phone calls, and video calls.

Anika then started gathering intelligence about the strategic places in the bordering area.

Singh allegedly shared several confidential information and photographs with the woman. However, no official statements have been made in connection with this case.

Several soldiers and officials are reported to have been honey trapped by women ISI agents. Initially, they connect their victims through Facebook and other social media sites.
