Wife arrested in Chetan Prakash murder case

Jaipur: Jhalawar police has arrested Anita Meena, wife of IB officer Chetan Prakash (32) for criminal conspiracy in her husband’s murder. She was into a relationship with main accused Praveen Rathore – a constable with ACB – and told him about her husband’s movements on the day of his murder on February 14, police officials said. It helped Praveen locate Chetan, overpower him and then inject an overdose of Ketamine that caused the IB officer’s death. Anita was produced in a court that sent her to one-day police custody. The police studied the call record details of the accused constable and Chetan Prakash’s wife.
Chetan Prakash Gelana – an intelligence officer with Delhi intelligence bureau – was last seen alive when he met his parents in Ramganjmandi on February 14. He left for Jhalawar in a train after meeting the relative and then went missing. His body was later found on the roadside on Bhawanimandi Marg.

“It came up during investigation that Anita played a key role in the murder of Chetan Prakash. She disclosed the details of Chetan’s movements on the day of his murder. It helped Praveen and his friends locate Chetan and then murder him,” said a police officer.
Due to Anita, Praveen knew where Chetan was staying in Delhi and when he came to Jhalawar.
Jhalawar police had earlier arrested a hospital employee, identified as Santosh Nirmal, who provided ketamine – an anesthetic drug – that was allegedly used for murdering intelligence bureau (IB) officer Chetan Prakash. According to the police, Santosh currently works at Jhalawar Janana (Women’s) Hospital. He was earlier posted in Jhalawar Trauma Center. One more accused, Shahrukh was also arrested, while the police are searching for constable Praveen Rathore, and two others. Praveen – the main accused – posted in Jhalawar ACB. It is alleged that Praveen was into a relationship with Chetan’s wife and he murdered the IB officer with the help of his friends because he was a hurdle in their relationship.
