Jaipur: Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Tuesday sealed the city-based regional office of leading mobile manufacturing company – ViVo – for alleged non-payment of advertising dues. The office is situated in Trinity Mall at Swej Farm in the city. JMC officials said that the company had put up hoarding and banners in Jaipur, but didn’t pay the advertising dues in the excess of Rs 1.34 crore to the civic body.
Several JMC officials including revenue officer Naman Sharma, revenue officer (hoarding) Ramkishore Mehta and revenue inspector Devananad Sharma were present when the office was sealed.
JMC has recently taken action against some multinational companies for violation of advertising norms and non-payment of penalties.
In June, JMC sealed the regional office of another mobile manufacturing company – Oppo – for alleged non-payment of advertising dues amounting to nearly Rs 2.32 crore.
The company didn’t allegedly pay the money for putting up hoardings on public places. A notice was served and when the dues were not paid, the company’s office located at Ridhhi Siddhi junction near Gopalpura Bypass was sealed.
