Jaipur: A day after a CRPF jawan committed suicide by shooting himself at a training camp in Jodhpur, his videos have surfaced that yet again raise the issue of stress in the force. In the video, he said that since he was a lower-rank employee, no one was paying heed to his problems and he was being harassed by seniors.

The jawan, identified as Naresh, had shot the video before his confrontation with police and administration officials started on Sunday. He refuted many allegations levelled against him in the past. One of the allegations against him was an illegal discharge of his official weapon.

He said that he had performed his duties to the best of his abilities and was an EOC-qualified jawan. He never harassed anyone and performed his duties well.

He also alleged that he was not being allowed to leave his quarters for the past five days and was not assigned duty.

The incident took place at CRPF’s Recruit Training Center (RTC) located at Paldi Khichian in Jodhpur. Naresh was accused of holding his wife and children hostage for 18 hours while engaging in an armed confrontation with police and his colleagues. When the IG, CRPF came to the spot, he shot himself to end his life.
