Jaipur: The festival of Navratri has brought some great news for people of Jaipur who travel regularly to or wish to travel to Jammu for offering prayers at the revered Vaishno Devi temple. Pilgrims from the city can make use of special direct festive flights to Jammu. The Jaipur-Jammu flight operations will start soon from October 3.

There were no direct flights operating in this sector hence this new development is sure to please the pilgrims. SpiceJet has decided to start this service which will ease out the travelling concerns of the pilgrims. In this festive season of Dussehra and with Diwali coming up next month, the trains to Jammu are packed and it is difficult to get confirmed seats. The waiting list of passengers can run up to 100 in Jammu Express train. In such a situation having a direct flight is a masterstroke by the airline.

Flight number for SG-2941 will depart from Jaipur at 8:05 am every Sunday morning. The return flight SG-2942 will depart from Jammu every day at 4:25 pm and reach Jaipur at 6:05 pm.

Vaishno Devi, also known as Mata Rani, is a manifestation of the Hindu Mother Goddess of Maha Kali, Maha Saraswati and Maha Lakshmi. The temple is located in Katra at the Trikuta Mountains within the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the most visited holy sites in India and attracts pilgrims in large numbers.

Jaipur-Udaipur-Jaipur flight will operate from October 13 to 28 while the Jaipur-Delhi-Jaipur flight will provide service from October 1 to October 28.
