Jaipur:  The police have lodged an FIR against the owner and operators of a hotel in Udaipur for illegal stay of at least 11 foreign tourists. As per rules, the hotels have to fill up a C-form with information about the stay of foreign tourists and submit it to the police.

The hotel management violated this law following which the FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act, 1946. The police were gathering information about foreigners in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak when they came to know about the illegal stay of foreigners in the hotel. Most of the tourists are the UK and USA nationals.

Namaste Hotel is situated in Ghataghar area of Udaipur. According to preliminary reports, 14 tourists were staying in the hotel, but the hotel management submitted C-Form for only four of them. Eight tourists are from the UK, 2 from the USA and 1 from Ireland. The CID branch asked the Ghantaghar police to take action in the matter following the hotel management officials were booked.

Several tourists are reported to be stranded in various parts of the state. As per reports, the tourism department is collecting information about all the foreign tourists stuck in Rajasthan. At least 10 are reported to be stranded in Jaipur alone.
