Jaipur: Two friends from Jaipur who went for a picnic at Bisalpur Dam in Tonk district of Rajasthan died after they drowned on Wednesday. This is the second tragedy due to drowning over the past ten days in the state.

The deceased men have been identified as 34-year-old Rahul Saini, a resident of Pratap Nagar in Jaipur and Ankush Sharma (24) who belonged to Amit Nagar at Mansarovar in Jaipur. They used to work in Sanga Motor Agency and were friends.

Both of them went for the picnic at Bisalpur Dam on August 15. They did not return until late night. Their phone was not reachable. After getting no response from them, the family members lodged a missing report with Muhana police station.

The villagers on Thursday morning saw the dead bodies floating in the water and reported it to police. A police team reached the spot and pulled the bodies out of the dam with the help of villagers.

Identity cards and bags were found near the dam that helped the police to identify the victims. Police informed family members about the incident and handed over the bodies to them after a post-mortem examination. Earlier, four youths from Jaipur had drowned in Padamla pond in Ranthambore National Park on August 4. All four of them went for a picnic with their families.
