Jaipur: The wait for the underground Jaipur Metro between Chandpole and Chhoti Chaupar is about to end. The work on this stretch has been going on for the past five years. The trial run for this underground stretch will begin from November 20.

The decision to start the trail was taken in a meeting of Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) board of directors on Wednesday. Jaipur Metro chairman Bhaskar A Sawant, MD Mukesh Singhal and many other JMRC officials were present in the meeting.

“We discussed various aspects of the work done so far on this stretch of Jaipur Metro between Chandpole and Chhoti Chaupar in detail. The progress has been satisfactory and we are finally ready to start the trial run. The trial will begin from November 20. The people have been waiting for this for the past 5 years. The traffic being disrupted due to the Jaipur Metro work will return to normal on this stretch soon which will be a big relief for commuters, local shopkeepers and shoppers,” said a senior JMRC official.

He added the trial run will continue for nearly 45 days following which CRS will be invited for an inspection. “As soon as we receive a green signal from CRS, we will throw the Jaipur Metro for the public on this stretch,” said the officer.

He added that Jaipur Metro will likely start operating between Chandpole and Chhoti Chaupar by March.
