Army day parade traffic plan in Jaipur.

Jaipur : Jaipur is gearing up to host the Army Day Parade 2026 on January 15, with Mahal Road in Jagatpura set to become the focal point of celebrations and public viewing. As the parade is being organised in the city for the first time, authorities have issued a detailed traffic advisory to ensure smooth movement and public safety during rehearsals and the main event.

The parade route will stretch from NRI Circle to Bombay Hospital Jaipur along Mahal Road. Senior defence officials, serving personnel and a large number of civilians are expected to attend.

Public Viewing Dates and Timings

The parade and full-dress rehearsals will be open to the public on January 9, 11, 13 and 15, 2026, between 6:00 am and 12:00 noon. During these hours, spectators will be able to witness displays of discipline, bravery and military precision by the Indian Army.

Seating for spectators has been arranged near Akshaya Patra Temple Jaipur. Visitors have been advised to approach the venue from D-Mart Circle, using Mahavir Marg and Kendriya Vihar Marg, to avoid congestion.

Major Traffic Restrictions on Mahal Road

To facilitate rehearsals and the parade, normal traffic on Mahal Road (Jagatpura) between NRI Circle and Bombay Hospital Circle will remain closed daily from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm on the event and rehearsal dates.

Residents living on either side of Mahal Road will still be able to reach their homes by using parallel internal roads, as direct entry from colony gates and smaller lanes opening onto Mahal Road will remain restricted during the notified hours.

Diversions You Should Be Aware Of

Traffic authorities have put multiple diversions in place depending on the direction of travel and traffic load.

Vehicles heading from Khatushyam Circle towards NRI Circle or Akshaya Patra will be diverted at NRI Circle and routed via Haldighati Marg and VIT Road.

Traffic coming from Vidhani Chauraha towards Bombay Hospital or Akshaya Patra will be diverted at Bombay Hospital Circle towards Kendriya Vihar Marg. If traffic pressure increases further, vehicles from Vidhani Chauraha towards Bombay Hospital may also be redirected towards Mahatma Gandhi Road.

Vehicles approaching Akshaya Patra and Mahal Road from Rana Sanga Marg will be diverted at Dwarikapuri Circle or Gautam Buddha Circle and routed through parallel roads. Similar diversions will apply to vehicles coming from Goner Road, which will be redirected at D-Mart Circle.

Parking Arrangements for Spectators

Visitors attending the parade or rehearsals will be able to park their vehicles at designated parking zones along Haldighati Marg and Rana Sanga Marg. Authorities have advised the public to follow signage and instructions issued by traffic personnel on the ground.

Police and traffic officials have urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance, avoid the Mahal Road stretch during restricted hours, and use alternative routes wherever possible. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early, use designated access routes, and cooperate with traffic staff to ensure a safe and smooth Army Day experience.

With thousands expected to gather, the traffic plan is aimed at balancing security, public access and everyday mobility as Jaipur hosts this nationally significant event for the first time.
