Jaipur: Jaipur commuters should be prepared for temporary traffic diversions on Thursday, January 16, as President Droupadi Murmu arrives in the city for a short official visit. The district administration and traffic police have put special arrangements in place to manage movement during the high-security programme.
The President is scheduled to land at Jaipur International Airport at around 1:40 pm and proceed by road to Lok Bhawan in Civil Lines. Later in the afternoon, she will travel towards Sikar Road, reaching the Nindar Housing Scheme area near Harmada to attend a religious programme, before returning to the airport by early evening.
Traffic restrictions during convoy movement
Traffic diversions will be enforced intermittently along the President’s convoy route, including Airport Road, stretches in Civil Lines, and sections of Sikar Road. Police officials clarified that roads will not remain closed continuously; instead, traffic will be paused or diverted only during convoy movement to reduce inconvenience to the public.
What commuters should expect
Motorists passing through the airport area, Civil Lines and Sikar Road may experience brief delays between early afternoon and around 6 pm. Traffic police personnel will be deployed at major junctions to guide vehicles towards alternate routes, and commuters are advised to follow on-ground instructions and signage.

The traffic plan also takes into account the ongoing 1008 Kundiya Hanuman Mahayagya and Shri Ram Katha, which has been drawing 25,000 to 30,000 people daily. With the President’s visit coinciding with the concluding phase of the event, authorities expect increased vehicular and pedestrian movement in the Harmada–Nindar belt.
The President is scheduled to depart Jaipur for Delhi at 5:50 pm, after which normal traffic movement is expected to resume gradually. Police have appealed to residents to plan their travel in advance and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure smooth movement during the visit.
