Jaipur: Jaipur Police have announced a special traffic arrangement for January 1, 2026, as thousands of devotees are expected to visit the city’s most revered temples — Govind Dev Ji Temple and Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple — on New Year’s Day. The measures are aimed at ensuring smooth darshan, managing heavy crowds, and keeping traffic moving in and around the old city and adjoining areas.

Every year, the first day of the new year sees a continuous flow of devotees from early morning till late night at both temples. With footfall expected to be higher than usual, traffic police have rolled out a full-day plan that will remain in force from 5 am to 9 pm.

No-Parking Zones on Key City Roads

To prevent congestion, parking will be prohibited on several major routes connecting the temples and surrounding areas. Authorities have made it clear that roadside parking on these stretches will not be allowed throughout the day.

Parking will remain restricted on the JLN Marg stretch between Arogya Path and Gandhi Circle, on Tonk Road from Prithviraj T Point to Rambagh Circle, and on Govind Marg between Trimurti Circle and Raja Park Circle. Vehicles will also not be allowed to park between Rambagh Circle and JDA Circle, as well as from JDA Circle to Tulsi Circle.

Traffic police have warned that illegally parked vehicles on these roads may be removed to avoid bottlenecks.

Entry of Buses Restricted in Walled City

During New Year celebrations, buses and mini-buses operating in the walled city area will not be allowed to enter the inner zones. These services will be diverted to parallel routes to keep the parikota area free from heavy vehicles.

Given limited parking near Jalebi Chowk and Govind Dev Ji Temple, commuters have been advised to use the underground parking facility at Ram Niwas Bagh and switch to public transport or walk for the final stretch.

Changes in Bus Routes

Bus operations will also see temporary diversions depending on traffic conditions, especially on Tonk Road. Buses coming from Gopalpura towards Yadgar Tiraha may be routed via Laxmi Mandir and Sahakar Marg, while buses heading towards Gopalpura will be diverted through Ashok Marg.

Long-distance roadways buses coming from Delhi Road towards Sindhi Camp will be routed through the express highway and alternative arterial roads to avoid congestion. Similarly, buses travelling from Sindhi Camp towards Delhi and Agra Road will be diverted via MI Road and adjoining routes.

Drivers from Mansarovar, Sanganer and Jagatpura heading towards the walled city have been advised to prefer Tonk Road, keeping in mind the anticipated rush near temple areas.

Parking Plan for Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple

A separate parking strategy has been put in place for devotees visiting Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple. Vehicles coming from Tonk Road and Bhawani Singh Road will be directed to park inside the Subodh College campus. Those approaching from JLN Marg, Shanti Path and Jawahar Nagar can use designated parking inside the Rajasthan University campus.

Devotees arriving from Govind Marg, Ram Niwas Bagh and the walled city will be allowed to park in a single line along the JLN Marg service lane before the Police Memorial, after entering via Dharam Singh Circle and Moti Dungri Road.

Special Arrangements Near Kale Hanuman Ji Temple

Additional traffic and parking measures have been announced for devotees visiting Kale Hanuman Ji Temple. Vehicles coming from Kanwar Nagar and Kale Hanuman Ji Temple side will be parked on vacant land near Jhulelal Temple. Those arriving from Brahmpuri will be guided to park near Pondrik Udyan.

Vehicles heading towards the temple from Gangauri Bazaar and Chaughan Chauraha will be required to use the underground parking facility at Chaughan Stadium. Exits from Jalebi Chowk for all vehicles will be routed towards Nagar Parishad Mori and Atish Market.

Advisory for Devotees

Traffic police have urged devotees to plan their visits in advance, follow on-ground instructions, and prefer public transport wherever possible. Visitors are also advised to allow extra travel time, especially during peak morning and evening darshan hours.
