The Palace on Wheels reaches Jaipur with 18 passengers onboard

Palace on Wheels reached Jaipur.

Jaipur: The Palace on Wheels reached Jaipur for the first time this tourist season. There were 18 passengers onboard. The tourists were extended a warm welcome with folk songs and artists. The train had left Delhi on Wednesday evening. Twenty four more passengers will embark on the PoW journey from Jaipur.

The train arrived at Durgapura railway station at 6 am. The tourists were taken to Amer Fort where they enjoyed elephant safari. They also visited Jantar Mantar, City Palace and Albert Hall.

“The tourists will go on a shopping at the Walled City markets in the city and visit other historic tourist attractions. They will board the train for further journey at 8 pm from Durgapura railway station. The passengers who will board the train from Jaipur will complete their journey at Udaipur,” said a senior tourism department officer.

He said that only seven of the 18 passenger who boarded from Delhi will complete their return journey.

The train can accommodate 82 passengers. The officer said that the train is fully booked for the next 3-4 rounds.

The Palace on Wheels which represents Rajasthan culture and heritage is popular among tourists across the globe. In fact, 99% of the tourists who have booked train for this season are foreigners.
