Tension prevails in Sikar over Diksha Mathur’s death; family alleges murder

The school authorities claim that the girl was depressed over something and committed suicide but the family members alleged she was murdered. The cops didn’t rule out the possibility that she lost her balance on the fourth floor of the building and fell off accidentally.

Jaipur: A 17-year-old girl student identified as Diksha Mathur died after she allegedly jumped off the fourth floor of her school building in Sikar on Thursday. The incident took place at Excellence Girls Senior Secondary School near Nehru Park. The family members continued to protest on Friday. They had not agreed to claim the girl’s body till the reports last came in.

The school authorities claim that the girl was depressed over something and committed suicide but the family members alleged she was murdered. The cops didn’t rule out the possibility that she lost her balance on the fourth floor of the building and fell off accidentally. The police have launched an investigation.

Diksha Mathur (17) was a student of class 12th in Excellence School.

School Principal Neha Vyas told media persons, Diksha was laughing during the class due to which the teacher scolded her and called her parents to complain. The teacher then asked Diksha to leave the class.

The girl on the pretext of going to the washroom went to the fourth floor of the school building. She sat on the balcony for a while and jumped off, according to preliminary reports.

The family members were informed that Diksha got injured in an incident. After an hour, they were informed that Diksha has died. Her father alleged that when he went to the school, he was told Diksha had been rushed to a hospital. When he went to the hospital, he didn’t find his daughter and came back to the school. He was then told that Diksha had died.

The deceased relatives demanded arrest of school authorities and staff for misbehaving with their child due to which the incident happened.

The family members, local and relatives blocked the Salasar Road of Sikar on Thursday and staged a protest. They refused to take away the girl’s body until their demands were met.

Diksha’s father Naresh said that the school authorities called him around 10 am and complained that Diksha was creating disturbance in the class. He apologized for her behavior. The school principal again called around noon and told him that Diksha had jumped from the building and she was injured.

The relatives rushed to the school and were told that their daughter is in hospital. When they reached the hospital, Diksha was not there. After an hour, the school authorities informed that Diksha was dead.
