Teenager ends life after writing on suicide note: ‘mom, now you will never be late for work’
The mother, a teacher, was leaving for work when the boy demanded
Jaipur: A 15-year-boy committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his house on the day his mother was celebrating her 40th birthday.
According to preliminary reports, the mother, a teacher, was leaving for work when the boy demanded that she bought her a new school dress. The mother told him that she was getting late, so would buy it for him after she returned from work. The boy apparently got agitated over this and ended his life. In the suicide note, he wrote ‘Now, you will never be late for school due to me’. He also wished her a happy birthday and implied that ending his life was the world’s best gift for her.
The incident took place in the Behror area of Alwar district on Friday. The 40-year-old woman, Kanchan, was celebrating her 40th birthday. Rohit, the boy who committed suicide, was her only son. She was getting late for the school where she worked as a lecturer. When she told her son that she would take him shopping after returning home, he got agitated.
“Ab aap kabhi bhi school ke liye late nahi hogi…duniya ka sabse achchha birthday gift. Happy Birthday, mummy,” he scribbled these lines on a piece of paper and then hanged himself.
Kanchan had already lost her husband a few years ago. She had got a compensatory appointment in place of her husband. When she returned home from work, she found her only son hanging and almost fainted. She was inconsolable.
