Teacher of Army School in Kota arrested for misbehaving with girls
The FIR was registered against the teacher on August 4.
Jaipur: A teacher of Army Public School in Kota was arrested after the school principal registered an FIR against him for allegedly misbehaving with four girls. The incident took place on July 16 and the FIR was registered almost 20 days later on August 4.
The FIR has been registered under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual offenses Act and sections 354 (outraging modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC. The sections suggest that the teacher threatened the girls to keep mum about molestation.
The teacher, identified as Santosh Kumar, was interrogated by the police. It came up during investigation that he had misbehaved with at least four girls in the school. It was unclear as to why the school administration waited so many to register an FIR.
According to the police, the teacher used foul language to threaten the girls when they protested.
The police are recording the statements of the girls and are also studying footages of CCTVs installed in the school.
The teacher has been remanded in judicial custody.
