Jaipur: A POSCO court in Sawaimadhopur district of Rajasthan acquitted a doctor, identified as Ompraksh Meena, who had been arrested for raping and kidnapping a minor and ordered a CBI probe against four police officers of the district for framing the accused with bogus evidence. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 6 lakh on the government and asked it to either transfer or sent to lines the police officials responsible for arresting Dr Omprakash on bogus charges.

Dr Omprakash Meena is a resident of Hindaun town in Sawaimadhopur district and was posted as senior medical officer at the government hospital in Gangapur City.

An FIR was registered against Dr Meena in February, 2018. The police arrested Dr Meena under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act and presented a chargesheet.

Dr Meena argued in the court that all the evidence against him including prosecution witnesses were bogus. The same complainants had framed a retired IAS, a high court advocate, bank officials and businessmen in several districts of the state and registered bogus FIRs.

The court said that Dr Meena was mentally and physically harassed and economically exploited.

The court directed the government to pay Dr Meena a compensation of Rs 6 lakh within two months. The court also ordered a CBI probe in the matter.
