Subhangana case: Police interrogate husband, Rajkumar, for hours

Jaipur: Nearly a week after 40-year-old chairman of Jasoda Group of Institutes Subhangana was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her house in C-Scheme, the police quizzed her husband Rajkumar Salwani in the presence of his lawyer for nearly 12 hours. Police officials said that an investigation was still on. A case of abatement to suicide was registered against the husband after Subhaganga took the extreme step.

Ashok Nagar police is probing the matter. The police are trying to find out details regarding Rajkumar’s movements immediately before and after the murder. They are also studying the phone call records and WhatsApp chats between the two.

While Subhangana’s father Prem Surana who is the chairman of Deepshikha Group of Colleges has alleged that Subhangana was murdered at the behest of her husband, Rajkumar alleged that it was a ploy to grab his and her wife’s properties worth crores of rupees.

Rajkumar claims to be in the college owned by his wife on the night of August 25 when Subhangana allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room at her house in C-Scheme area.

The couple was not at good terms for the past few months. Subhangana had even considered filing for divorce, but later reportedly reached a compromise with her husband.

There are allegations that Rajkumar used to harass his wife.

Subhangana was a successful businesswoman. Celebrities such as Bollywood actor Salman Khan and cricketer Virat Kohli were acquainted with her and had visited Jaipur on her invitation. Subhangana is credited with launching fashion designing courses in Jaipur. She owned a fashion designing institute in Bapu Nagar.

As per the family members, her name was Ruchira Surana, but she changed it after her marriage.
